Palm Coast’s New Fire Station #21 Opens for Business

It’s just about the cleanest, most pristine new fire station you’ve ever seen.

Florida Palm Coast fire stationPalm Coast, Florida – October 27, 2008 – Eleven City of Palm Coast Firefighters, EMT’s and administrative staff members are moving into their brand new Fire Station #21 at 9 Corporate Drive. The new station replaces the City’s former main facility located at 4751 Belle Terre Parkway. It was constructed at no cost to taxpayers, thanks to an exchange site agreement between Palm Coast Parkway Investments LLC and the City of Palm Coast, in order to build Kohls Department Store on the former station site.

This new Corporate Drive facility is truly state-of-the-art, with three double apparatus bays to house City equipment, medical squad trucks and a County transport medical unit. Interior bunk rooms, crew living areas and office space completes the impressive 8,643 square foot facility. The Architects Design Group, Inc created the prototype for the design and J. Raymond Construction built the station.

“The former Belle Terre station will always be our ‘sentimental’ home, being that our staff and the entire community has called it our ‘main station’ since October of 1989,” says Fire Chief Mike Beadle. “However, we’re thrilled to have our new station and it’s been a long time coming. The new #21 is not only hurricane-proof, but its new location on Corporate Drive will help lessen our response times.”

A Grand Opening event will be scheduled in the near future, as well as station tours.
