Kohl’s No Longer a Rumor

Development receives Development Review Committee Approval

August 1, 2007 – Palm Coast, Florida – Kohl’s is coming to Palm Coast. It’s not just a rumor any more. The development, named Palm Coast Parkway Plaza, will be bounded by Palm Coast Parkway and Belle Terre (across from Albertsons).  The project received both preliminary plat and site plan approval from the Palm Coast Development Review Committee on July 27, 2007.

Palm Coast Plaza is planned to consist of the following:

  • The 88,783 square foot anchor Kohl’s store will face the center of the 20.19 acre parcel with the building backing to Palm Coast Parkway eastbound.
  • A 10,000 square foot building and a 20,000 square foot building (in-line retail) will abut the west side of Kohl’s.
  • Four buildings will be built along Belle Terre.
  • A 16,000 square foot building will be sited along Palm Coast Parkway westbound, behind the current CVS Pharmacy.

By agreement between the city and the developer, the existing Emergency Services building on Belle Terre will be replaced and relocated by the developer. The new location will be Corporate Drive, behind the present location. This move requires a zoning change which necessitates additional approval steps. The following steps are required:

  • August 15 – Public hearing before the Planning and Land Development Regulation Board
  • September 4 – First reading of zoning ordinance at City Council meeting
  • September 18 – Second reading of zoning ordinance at City Council meeting

Welcome to Palm Coast, Kohl’s
