Hammock Dunes Developer, Terry Pendleton, Passes Suddenly at Age 61

Terry Pendleton was the driving force behind the development of Hammock Dunes from 1999 until it’s turnover to property owners in 2005.

February 25, 2008 – Palm Coast, FL – Hammock Dunes, the luxury oceanfront golfing community in Palm Coast, FL, owes much of its success to Terry Pendleton. Terry passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 16, 2008 in Dallas, TX at the age of 61. He is survived by Pam Pendleton, his wife of 43 years, his mother, two children, a granddaughter and two step grandsons.

Terry arrived in Palm Coast in 1999 to head up the continuing development of Hammock Dunes by HD Associates. His accomplishments include:

  • Development of the 71 oceanfront lots
  • The addition of three tennis courts
  • Building the Creek Course
  • Refurbishing the Links Course
  • A new clubhouse
  • Selling 5 pads to WCI Communities on which tower condominiums were built
  • The orderly transition from a developer controlled community to one run by owners.

Terry’s vision was to build a community that would be "an unbelievable experience." He succeeded. Those who knew him remember him not as a developer, but as a friend of the property owners and the community in which he lived until 2005. He always loved coming back.
