Connecticut Snowbird Videos Bald Eagles at Grand Haven’s Wild Oaks Community in Palm Coast

John Bria, is hooked on the area. He’s rented a home in Flagler Beach for the last two winters. Struck by the abundance of area wildlife he brought his video equipment this year.

Palm Coast, FL – January 29, 2011 – GoToby.com has written in the past about a nesting pair of bald eagles in Grand Haven’s Wild Oaks Community, west of Colbert Lane in Palm Coast, FL. Federal statutes prohibit getting too close to nesting bald eagles. Plus, Wild Oaks is a gated community so eagle watching opportunities for most are limited. John Bria’s videos allow everyone to watch.
John Bria, an agronomist from Greenwich, Connecticut found Flagler Beach last year. This is his second winter visit. Impressed by the abundance of wildlife, he brought his video equipment this time. He provided GoToby.com with two videos of the Grand Haven bald eagles so everyone can enjoy watching these magnificent creatures. John is also developing a library of Right Whale videos, also taken locally. You can find other videos by John at www.opticalpress.com. John tells me that he is so hooked on this area, he bought two houses.
Eagles return each year to the same nest. The pair is raising two eaglets this year the same number as fledged last year. Local eagles’ nests are monitored for the Audubon Society each year by a team of local volunteers.

    Wild Oaks Eagles

Tks for posting the videos and info on the eagles at Wild Oaks, Toby. I have monitored this nest for Audubon for 3 yrs and met you at the nest last year. They are special. They had one fledge last year and this year we are fortunate to have 2 that are 7 wks old today. The Creek Course is nearby and had at least one hatchling last week. Too soon to tell if there are one or two. Great to have an abundance of bald eagles in Fl.
