Benton Village Adult Care Community Hosts Open House

Operator already runs twelve adult care facilities in the southeast, five of them in Florida with four more under construction in Florida and Georgia.

January 24, 2008 – Palm Coast, FL – Today marked the opening of Benton Village, Palm Coast’s newest adult care community. The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by Palm Coast Mayor, John Netts, County Councilman, Bob Abbott, and Chamber of Commerce President, Doug Baxter as well as an overflow crowd of interested residents. Benton Village is located on Belle Terre just south of Citation. Benton Village was developed by Devnet Services, Inc., located in Flagler Beach.

Benton Harbor’s rental program offers independent living, and assisted living, including twelve apartments for the memory impaired. Four levels of service are also available. The main building contains the administrative offices, social center, and 59 apartment (including the 12 unit wing for the memory impaired). Additionally, there are 20 patio and cottage units, with full kitchen, laundry, and one-car garage in both 1 and 2-bedroom configurations. (floor plans)

Rentals start as low as $1,500 per month plus daily charges for the service level selected. Utilities, except phone and cable, are included. Kyle Diekmann, one of the partners in Benton Village pointed out that Benton Village makes it easy for families to stay connected with their residents by offering popular family and theme nights. He also said that the Palm Coast launch was their most successful so far. Occupants are expected to start moving in about one month. (photos and more information)

Mayor Netts stressed the need for such a facility in Palm Coast, noting that it fit well into the city’s designation by the state last year as a Community for a Lifetime. Netts pointed out that Palm Coast attracts a retirement population but needs to endeavor to provide senior residents with opportunities to remain independent and enjoy an enhanced quality of life in their own towns.
