Walmart Supercenter coming to Palm Coast

Wal-Mart has a parcel on Old Kings Road under contract for a new Walmart Supercenter

November 21, 2006 – Wal-Mart has contracted for a parcel on Old Kings Road just north of SR 100 in Palm Coast, Flagler County, FL. They plan a very large Supercenter for the site. Still in the rumor category is the possibility of a Sam’s Club as well.

The developer, Old Kings Interchange Inc. has committed to widen Old Kings Rd from SR 100 to Palm Coast Pkwy. The new road will not follow the existing right of way. Just north of SR 100, it will bow out to the west, closer to Interstate 95, then proceed north then bow east to the original road location before the canal. The road expansion will be funded with bonds which will be paid off by future property owners along Old Kings.

The developer is proud of the commitment to widen Old Kings Rd. It will open up another north-south alternative as well as enhancing existing evacuation routes. In addition, the location of a Wal-Mart Supercenter east of Interstate 95 will reduce the traffic congestion on existing Interstate 95 crossovers.
