Town Center at Palm Coast Update – Some facts and some rumors

And some rumors debunked

February 28, 2008 – Palm Coast, FL – I’ve been getting a lot of emails about Town Center and the Super Target anchored retail "power center" located on the east side of SR100 south of Belle Terre. The power center, also know as Palm Coast Landing, is being developed by Weingarten Realty. Here are some facts and some rumors.

Facts:

  • Linens N Things will not be coming to the power center.
  • McDonald’s is a sure thing on one of the Palm Coast Landing out-parcels.
  • PetsMart, Ross, TJ-Max, and Michaels will be there as well.
  • Wachovia is building a branch bank at the corner of the entrance to Publix at Belle Terre.
  • First Community Credit Union will be locating at the Belle Terre entrance to Palm Coast Landing, just north of the new Walgreens.
  • The Epic Theater is only a few steps away from getting their building permit. Stories saying otherwise are incorrect.
  • The Hilton Garden Inn boutique hotel is already under construction.
  • A charter school is moving forward with plans to build on Town Center Blvd. In fact, their plans have expanded to include more grades (now K-8).
  • Owners of the nearly competed medical building west of Florida Hospital Flagler have opened it up to general office leases as well. They have renamed the building Union Plaza.
  • Target delayed their opening in order to coincide with the opening of the other "big box" stores in Palm Coast Landings.

Several people have asked me how to apply for a job at Target. Target plans to hold a job fair jointly with the other stores. I’ll publish details as soon as I have them.

Rumors:

  • Books a Million is still a possibility, but nothing has been signed. It’s a coin toss.
  • Chili”s, Olive Garden, and Red Lobster have had discussions but none have committed.
  • Any story about the Epic Theater pulling out of the project (for any reason) are unfounded.

Remember, it is the nature of retail leasing to be secretive about potential tenants. Prospective retailers and restaurants do not want to signal their interest to competitors. No news is not necessarily bad news.

    Super target

Is there any date set for the Super Target to open? This seems so dumb to wait for a center that is no where near ready to be complete.

    Town Center

Looking forward to the opening of Target and the rest of the stores that we have been needing for so long. Everyone I talk to is excited about this…it will save gas for one thing besides giving us a choice of places to shop. Heard Linens and Things in general is having financial problems and may be going under. (was really looking forward to their arrival) Books a Million would be great!
Really need more resterants in Town Center. Not more banks!
What is going on Old Kings and route 100?
Need those movie theaters!!! We all need that outlet of unreality when times get tough.
