Ginn Hammock Beach Club Invitational Membership Details

Recallable memberships at Ginn Clubs offered to non-property owners to stimulate cash flow.

Palm Coast, Florida – April 12, 2009 – Ginn Resorts has initiated Invitational Memberships for those who do not live in Ginn communities. The memberships, recallable in four years, are intended to supplement cash flow until the real estate market improves and club rosters fill. Resort amenities have a high fixed overhead. When membership wanes and/or members stop paying dues, the cash burn rate can be extensive.

    Not fair to Members

This waving of initiation fees seems quite unfair to the current members who paid the $60,000 or $40,000 initiation back years ago.

I would expect a huge member backlash here.

    Memberships

I cannot imagine anyone paying $ 800 a month for these memberships. The only reason so many were sold was the highly touted "property value at resale" which did not pan out. All property owners were told that their property would be worthless without this golf membership. This is the only reason people signed up. All of this information was withheld until long after we bought at Reunion! Wait till this lawsuit hits!

I understand your point, but if the Invitational Memberships make the difference between the club surviving or not, it will still be a good thing for existing members. GM considering bankruptcy doesn’t seem fair to the person that paid $30/share either, but life is not always fair.
