Epic Theatre Breaks Ground – Olive Garden Deal Near
Epic construction will last about one year. Olive Garden has signed a letter of intent for space in the Targe- anchored plaza on SR100.
Palm Coast, FL – September 2, 2009 – Finally, a real step forward. Blanketed by the overpowering aroma of popcorn, local dignitaries and Epic Theatre officials broke ground today for a 14-theater movie complex in the Palm Coast Town Center. The 14-theater movie complex will take about one year to complete. Meanwhile, the on again/off again story of an Olive Garden Restaurant in Palm Coast is on again. A letter of intent has been signed for a lease/build-to-suit structure, also in Town Center. The building will be located on an outparcel along SR 100 at the east end of the Target-anchored plaza (nearest the high school). Construction is expected to begin by the end of the year.

I never Thought I would see it.
I had to attend the ground-breaking to be sure it was real. It was only like two years or so behind schedule.
From the brief presentation it appears the complex will be similar to the one in St. Augustine, It is nice, but small for a 16-screen complex. The one is Palm Coast will seat a total of 2,400 persons in 14 auditoriums. They will be state-of-the-art, with digital sound and projection, including some in 3D. (No I-Max though.)
I hope there are no more delays for the project.
