End-of-Year Commercial Construction Update for Flagler County

Interactive Map w/pictures. Major progress since September: Airport Commons, Central Landings, Dollar General, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Popeyes, Wawa, Texas Roadhouse and more.

PALM COAST, FL – December 16, 2019 – My September drive around town commercial update was popular with well over three thousand views of the interactive map. Several readers have asked for an update, so here it is.

Each commercial project under development (red) has pictures and text visible by clicking on the red pins. I left the pictures from September but added updated pictures as of December 16.  Culver’s Restaurant, slated for The Landings at Town Center, has been removed from the list. After they obtained a building permit, it was discovered that McDonald’s apparently has contractual protection against nearby competitors in the plaza.

Two Adult Living Facilities have moved from the “Coming Soon” (yellow pins) list to the Active Development list; The Azure, on Cypress Point Pkwy and Gold Choice, on Old Kings Rd. Popeyes too moved to Active Development as did StorQuest, on Old Kings Road.

Both Barnes's office building, on Colbert Lane at Roberts Road, and Aldi, in Kohl's Plaza, have been added to the “Coming Soon” list.

Another addition this cycle is SunTrust Bank. The former Mobile Station at the entrance to Island Walk Shopping Center has been demolished and will be replaced by a new SunTrust Bank branch office. It’s rumored that the Katz and Green building, at the corner of Florida Park Drive, which presently houses SunTrust will be razed once SunTrust has relocated (possibly to be replaced with a second area Wawa.
