PALM COAST, FL – July 8, 2015 – Beginning Tuesday, July 7, Harbor Center Way at Palm Harbor Shopping Center no longer provides direct access to east Palm Coast Parkway. Motorists exiting the Palm Harbor Shopping Center that wish to go east on Palm Coast Parkway will have to turn right onto west Palm Coast Parkway and make a U-turn at Old Kings Highway to head east on Palm Coast Parkway.

This new traffic configuration will remain permanent, as part of the Palm Coast Parkway Widening project.

    Configuration nightmare

This is one of the dumbest things the city has done. Making a u-turn at old kings rd with the amount of traffic is going to create accidents and grid lock. A u-turn anywhere has potential for disaster..
I don’t see the advantage of closing Harbor Center Way to make it a one way.

I have to agree with comments made by Rod. I would sure like to hear the reasoning behind that decision. I thought we were trying to avoid traffic gridlock…… not aenable it!

    other options exist

There’s an exit on Florida Parkway as well plus on Old Kings Road side of shopping center. Must be something to do with that traffic light per the professional studies.
