Commerce Department Reports July New Residential Sales Up from 2013

Sales of new single family houses in July 2014 were 412,000 at a seasonally adjusted annual rate, down 2.4 percent from June’s revised rate but up 12.3 percent from July 2013.

Palm Coast, FL – August 25, 2014 – The Commerce Department today released its report of new home sales. Sales of new single family houses in July 2014 were 412,000 at a seasonally adjusted annual rate, down 2.4 percent from June’s revised rate but up 12.3 percent from July 2013.

The announcement follows last week’s release of New Residential Construction. Building permits in July 2014 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of 1,052,000, up 8.1 percent from the revised June rate and up 7.7 percent from July 2013.

Housing starts in July 2014 were at a SAAR of 1,093,000, up 15.7 percent from June and up 21.7 percent from July 2013.

GoToby.com does not track Palm Coast’s new single-family sales, but there were 52 new home building permits issued in July for the Palm Coast metro area (which includes all of Flagler County), up 8,3 percent from June and 30% over July 2013. .
