Blue Roof Razed – Olive Garden/Red Lobster Building Permit Issued

Dining options will increase as two nationally known restaurants locate in Town Center.

Palm Coast, FL – August 10, 2010 –A few years ago witnessed the demolition of the Palm Coast Resort, home of Henry’s; one of the best bars I’ve patronized in my lifetime.  Today, another Palm Coast icon bites the dust. The Palm Coast Real Estate Sales Center, long known as "The Blue Roof" was razed today to make room for a CVS Pharmacy.
The new store will replace the present CVS located in, Palm Harbor Plaza; yet another icon. The Blue Roof was located on the southeast corner of Palm Coast Pkwy and Old Kings Road.  [CVS Site Plan]
The "under one roof" combination of Olive Garden and Red Lobster will soon be a reality. The developer closed on the land last Friday. General Contractor Haley Construction pulled the building permit for the 10,872 square foot $2.2 million building yesterday. A silt fence has already been installed around the property. A March 2011 grand opening is anticipated.
The structure represents a new concept by Darden Restaurants, parent of both chains. The building will house two separate serving areas but the two will share restroom facilities, a bar, and one kitchen. Look for construction to start soon at the southeast corner of Palm Cost Landing (Target-anchored retail plaza).
