Palm Coast European Village Entertainment to Resume Thursday Evening

European Village restaurant and shop owners join forces to offer entertainment again.

Palm Coast, Florida – July 28, 2008 – European Village restaurant and shop owners have suffered during the ongoing saga of a developer unable to fulfill on original promises and a series of inept and arguably dishonest interim hotel operators at the venue. Now they have joined forces as the European Village Store Owners Group to market their businesses and to attract customers by providing entertainment. This Thursday will kick off their efforts with free live entertainment at the center stage of the piazza, from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm featuring Disco Night DJ. This will be the first of many Free Entertainment Nights. Plans call for more entertainment, possibly three nights a week.

The group believes that this first of many new ideas will Increase the growth and exposure of the European Village in a positive direction. With “Strength in Numbers,” the Store Owners Group is willing to do what it takes to survive and grow with the Palm Coast area and make European Village a must do for Palm Coast residents and visitors alike.

    too little too late

With the advent of Town Center approaching ,EV should remain more of a dining destination. La Piazza, Mezzaluna and Barbara Jeans are the only reasons worth going there for.
I agree that with the recent break-ins, what’s next? It would be great if a hotel
chain came in bought it out.
    It’s too little too late!

    hmmmm…

thursday nights used to be the night to be at ev. the plaza was filled with hundreds of people who spent money at the businesses.
heard a rumor that only a couple of the businesses were willing to contribute to the entertainment. shortly after that the entertainment stopped. never quite understood why the store owners never got together as a group to keep a good thing going.
like someone said "too little too late". too bad, ev used to be a destination spot the whole family could enjoy.

    Where’s the entertainment?

We recently moed to Palm Coast, we are a young family & have 3 kids-12, 6 & 4-so we are always looking for something to do that we can enjoy & the kids can enjoy as well. We LOVE European Village, its neat & has ALOT of potential for families but there NEVER seems to be anything going on. It seems that they should be taking advantage of what they already have, a great atmosphere, a stage & plenty restaurants to choose from to appeal to MANY different people. Is someone in charge of organizing this?? Thanks for your time.

Don’t confuse the restaurant and shop owners with the developer and hotel operator. Hopefully, the hotel situation will change soon. In the meantime, healthy restaurant and shop traffic will make the residential units more valuable.

I agree that EV has a lot to offer as a venue. But the common areas, the underground garages, and many of the units, both residential and commercial are caught up in foreclosure. There is a group of really dedicated restaurant and shop owners who are managing to hold things together.
EV is a condominium project with separate association boards for commercial units, residential units, and garages.
To fully understand what is happening, I suggest you talk with one of the merchants there. The best thing you can do to help the situation is to support them with your continued patronage. Please continue to shop and eat there.
