Palm Coast Commercial Construction Update

WalMart, ABC Liquor, Days Inn, Beach Village Apartments, CVS Pharmacy, Old Kings Road and Epic Theaters

Palm Coast, Florida – June 15, 2009 – There’s some commercial development activity in Palm Coast, FL lately. Here’s the latest on the status of some projects that have been publicized and some that have not.
WalMart SuperCenter – It looks like the new Walmart Supercenter planned for Old Kings Road will not be opening in 2010. I’ve learned that there is no doubt they will build, but the planned opening date (and the commencement of construction) have been put off for at least a year.
Old King’s Road Widening – Here’s some good news. The work that is underway to four-lane Old Kings Road from SR 100 to Town Center Parkway is on schedule to be completed by the end of the one-year construction schedule. Construction began in March. The completion date may be extended due to change orders.
ABC Liquor – ABC Liquor is looking to build a retail outlet on the northeast corner of Palm Coast Pkwy NE and Old Kings Road. ABC is working with city staff to resolve drainage issues with the originally presented site plan.
CVS Pharmacy – I’ve been told that CVS might build a new pharmacy where "The Blue Roof" real estate sales office is presently situated.
Beach Village Apartments – The site plan for the residential component of the Beach Village complex on SR 100 has been approved. The 15.5-acre site will have 117 apartment units. The Publix-anchored Beach Village retail center opened May 30th.
Epic Theater – Although I’ve heard from a few people that this project is about to start construction, I’ve been unable to confirm the information. Many are anxious for the new movie complex, but it looks like you’ll have to wait awhile.
Days Inn – The building permit for the Days Inn was issued in May and construction activity is already evident at the site north of Home Depot. The completed structure will be 60,080 square feet. Construction costs are estimated to be near $6 million.

N.E. corner of Old Kings and Palm Coast PKWY

Only the other day my wife remarked what nice location this would be for a little sitting Park..she was appalled at the notion of a liquor store there.
