• Marian Schwenn has joined the sales staff in the 422 S. Woodland Boulevard, Deland office.
• Christina Sutfin has joined the 759 W. Granada Boulevard, Ormond Beach office.

• Putnam State Bank announced that President and CEO Wayne McClain will be resigning from his position in order to join Beck Automotive Group as the Dealer Principal and General Manager of the group’s newly acquired Palatka Ford dealership. McClain will be replaced by Timothy L. Terry. Mr. Terry brings a wide range of community banking knowledge to this new position. Putnam State Bank has a branch office in Flagler County.
• Intracoastal Bank announced receipt of a 5-Star "superior" rating from Bauer Financial Inc. based upon its financial condition as of the second quarter that ended June 30, 2011. The 5-Star rating is the highest rating designated by Bauer Financial Inc. Intracoastal Bank, headquartered in Palm Coast, is Flagler County’s only locally owned and operated financial institution.

• A1A Scenic and Historic Coastal Byway received a 2011 Scenic Byway Award for the "Environmental Education Fair" in the Resource Protection category on August 24 at the National Scenic Byways 2011 Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Friends of A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway planned and implemented the Environmental Education Fair to help build appreciation of the byway’s resources and to foster resource stewardship.
