GoToby.com Article Apparently Plagiarized by Towson University Legal Affairs Professor

Benjamin A. Neil’s academic paper failed to attribute a paragraph lifted word-for-word from a GoToby.com article about reverse mortgages published more than a year earlier.

Palm Coast, FL – April 1, 2013 – A March 28 Baltimore Sun story "Towson Professor Investigated over Allegations of Plagiarism" reports that several academic articles published by Towson University professor Benjamin A. O’Neil contained content apparently plagiarized from other sources. O’Neil is a professor of legal affairs at Towson which is near Baltimore. One of the academic articles lifted the lead paragraph from a February 20, 2008 GoToby.com article "Baby Boomers and Reverse Mortgages, another Perfect Storm for Lenders." The quote was not attributed to GoToby.com.
Being quoted with attribution is a good thing. I appreciate the recognition while the attribution helps establish my “brand.” But plagiarism is simply stealing. But I must admit that being plagiarized by a professor in an academic work is kind of neat.
Note: In spite of the date (April 1), this is a true story.
