Good Real Estate News coming out of the Ginn Championship Tournament at Hammock Beach in Palm Coast, FL

The small crowds were expected at the first day of the pro-am, but real estate folks were feeling upbeat about the market.

March 26, 2008 – Palm Coast, FL – Wednesday was the first day of the two-day Pro-Am tournament, leading up to the real event scheduled for Friday – Sunday. The crowds were sparse compared to those expected on the weekend, but the pros and amateurs are more relaxed and approachable during this run-up event. I sat in on a live interview with Ian Woosnam and Sandy Lyle. But the real reason I’m at the tournament is to report on the event’s underlying purpose – to sell real estate.

As host, the Ginn Company is omnipresent. Their real estate sales group has the largest and best located tent in the sponsor area. But they are not alone. Other sponsors with real estate and/or economic development as their focus are:
  • Palm Coast Holdings – developer of Town Center and Palm Coast Park
  • Enterprise Flagler – chartered by both Flagler county and the City of Palm Coast to bring commercial and industrial development to the area. Sharing the booth with Enterprise Flagler is the Flagler Chamber of Commerce.
  • Resident Real Estate Network
  • The Luxury Properties Team of Hammock Dunes Real Estate
  • Sawmill Creek sales team
  • LandMar
  • City of Palm Coast
I picked up some positive tidbits today. Enterprise Flagler is hosting a Pro-Am team comprised of executives from companies with potential for future ties to the area; Mike Hickey of Hickey & Associates (specializing in site selection and public incentives), Tom Degiovanni (Bacardi), and Gene Canale (Northrop Grumman). This team participated without local tax payers spending a dime (thanks to help from Bobby Ginn).

Hammock Dunes Realty reports 24 sales contracts within the past 3 – 4 weeks, 14 of them by the Luxury Properties Team, signaling that the high end of the market has begun to pick up as well.

Unofficially (since the sale has yet to close) a member of Chicago’s Wrigley family has put some Ginn property under contract. Isn’t it nice to know that someone who could probably buy anywhere in the world chose Palm Coast?

    Gardens?

Thanks for the updates Toby – as a part-time resident your website really keeps us up-to-date on our little slice of paradise.
Any buzz at Ginn about prospects or developments on the Gardens property?
