Ginn Company buying Centex properties
Centex Destination Properties sells most of its local holdings.
October 6, 2006 – Two days ago, I reported that Ginn had bought his way back into the Ocean Hammock Golf Course. Last night I heard that the deal is much bigger. The Ginn Company is purchasing the Ocean Hammock Golf Course, The Lodge at Ocean Hammock, Palm Coast Resort and Condominiums, Bulow Plantation, and the Marineland Condominium project from Centex Destination Properties. Centex’s residential building division, Wayne Homes, earlier exited Flagler County. If true, this move will solidify Ginn’s preeminent position as the major residential/resort developer in the area with Landmar holding second place. I hope the confusion over who can belong to what in the Ocean Hammock/Hammock Beach communities will end also.
This story is now beyond the rumor category and can be found in the news section.
Ginn buys CDP
Ginn has purchased all of Centex destination properties for a little less than 800,000,000. Sale to close before Dec. 31 this month. There were two additional properties in the CDP organization that Ginn didn’t know about and were not included in the sale. They were the only two remaining Destination Properties in Florida. Centex Destination properties is now gone.
