Flagler County Reschedules Action on Ginn-LA DRI Notification of Proposed Change

More time is required for the developer to submit requested information and for County Staff to evaluate it.

Palm Coast, Florida – May 28, 2009 – Flagler County Commissioners will delay consideration of a volatile issue involving Ginn-LA Marina and Hammock Beach/Ocean Hammock residents.  The county must decide whether or not the real estate developer’s Notification of Proposed Change (NOPC) is a Substantial Deviation from the existing and approved Development of Regional Impact (DRI).  The delay is to accommodate county staff’s request for additional information from the developer. Ginn-LA needs more time to submit the information and the staff will need time to evaluate it.  Originaly scheduled for June 1st, the subject has been moved to the June 15th meeting agenda.
The NOPC requests a shift or reallocation of 1,147 already approved residential units within the existing bounds of the DRI.  The change would concentrate all the residential units into a 34-acre area near the present resort core which now includes the existing lodge and portions of the golf course property.  Residents are concerned about the potential impact of the change(s).  The developer has submitted no plans for new development at this time.
