Discount Tires Store in Home Depot Plaza and a Microbrewery in European Village
The Palm Coast Planning & Land Development Regulation Board issued development orders for Moonrise Brewery and Discount Tires (this was DT’s third try).
PALM COAST, FL – August 20, 2017 – “Third time’s the charm” for Discount Tires. Palm Coast’s Planning & Land Development Regulation Board (PLDRB) on August 16th approved a development order for Discount Tires to build a new store in the Home Depot Plaza adjacent to (north of) Bob Evans Restaurant. This is the third time Discount Tire has tried for a Palm Coast location.
In 2008, Discount Tire submitted a plan to build in Cobblestone Village. A tire store at that location would have been a non-conforming use, requiring City Council approval. Reversing a city staff recommendation for approval, the City Council at the time denied the request. The location was subsequently developed to include Zaxby’s, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, and a Dollar Tree.
In 2014, Discount Tire began site development work for a new store next to Panera Bread on SR 100. After site development was completed, the company’s real estate department decided against proceeding with that location (no reason specified). The parcel was returned to its condition before the site development and subsequently sold. A Chipotle Mexican Grill is now under construction there.

According to the city website, the Moonrise owners are from St. Augustine and have a proven record of accomplishment in the industry, including two gold medals, winner of Taste Saint Augustine, four silver, and three bronze medals.

They will still have to have a site plan approved. I don’t expect them to be open any time this year.

More traffic on Boulder Rock, like its not crazy
