Palm Coast Wawa and More – Recent Commercial Building Permits

Wawa has pulled a revised building permit for its first Flagler County gas station, convenience store, food market, and coffee shop.

PALM COAST, FL — September 7, 2019 — Commercial construction is on the rise in Palm Coast and Flagler County. The area's first Wawa (fuel, convenience store, food market, and coffee shop) store will be coming soon to the corner of SR 100 and Bulldog Drive. A building permit for the new store was issued August 28th with a contractor stated construction value of $888,000. Wawa paid a combined $137,114 for permitting and impact fees. 

Also permitted in August, is a new Dollar General store to be built at the corner of Matanzas Woods Pkwy and the old Belle Terre. That building has a contracted stated construction value of $766,447. Permitting and impact fees of $77,780 were paid.

Construction will begin on the Pavillion and Restrooms for the swimming pool at the Sawmill Creek subdivision on the west side of US Rt 1, between Matanzas Woods Pkwy and Old King Rd. Phase one of Sawmill will include 259 single-family homes. Phase two is already in the permitting stage. The community will have 1,900 single-family homes at buildout.

Site work is well underway at Airport Commons, a new commercial development at the southeast corner of SR 100 and Airport Rd.  Two permits have been issued by Flagler County at that location. A Smoothie King with a construction value of $700,000 and a Planet Fitness, valued at $3,500,000.

As earlier reported, two apartment complexes, totaling 321 residential units are under construction in Town Center.

We can also expect soon an O'Reilly Auto Parts Store on Palm Coast Pkwy NW, a Texas Roadhouse (under construction) in the Winn Dixie parking lot, a Popeye's on Old Kings Rd at SR 100, Coastal Rehab on Palm Coast Pkwy NE, and a Sherwin Williams Paint store (under construction) next to the CVS at John Anderson and SR 100.
