July Traffic Way Up at Realtor.com Website

Both web traffic and time on site were way up. 7 of 20 metros showing the greatest year-over-year increase were in Florida.

Palm Coast, Florida – August 28, 2008 – Reporting the real estate industry today is like reporting the weather in Rochester, NY; "Mostly cloudy with intervals of partial clearing." No wonder the weather reporters had unlisted phone numbers. Well here’s a peek of blue in the real estate sky. Realtor.com reports that month-over-month traffic on their website grew 29% in July and site visitors stayed 26% longer. Of the 20 markets showing the greatest Year-over-year search gains, seven were in Florida.

    Not what it looks like!!!

    Looking at all the areas on the list of the most searched, it is easy to see that people are looking for foreclosures and short sales. Not a great indication that the real estate market is improving. This is just more of the same. However, a silver lining is that we must get all the foreclosures and short sales out of the way before a true recovery in the market can occur and the more that gets taken out the better!!
