Hotel and Restaurant Plan Approved for SR 100 at I-95.

The Master Subdivision Plan approval allows the applicant to proceed to Preliminary Plat, Final Plat and Technical Site plan review. The plan will preserve several acres of high quality wetland.

PALM COAST, FL – April 8, 2018 – The Palm Coast Planning and Land Development Regulations Board (PLDRB) on April 4 approved a Development Order Master Subdivision Plan for 9.2 acres located at the southwestern corner of Interstate 95 and SR 100. The applicant and property owner is MPC Lots  LLC. MPC Lots LLC shares the same corporate address as homebuilder ICI.

SOUTHWEST CORNER OF I-95 AND SR 100

The approved application combines two contiguous parcels; the first a 9.38-acre parcel that is part of the City of Palm Coast Redevelopment Area and a vacant 98-acre parcel. The resulting Master Subdivision Plan permits development on only 9.2 acres of the 107 +/- acres. It will include a stormwater retention pond, a restaurant, and a hotel. The remaining acreage will be used for stormwater drainage easements and conservation area.

Subsequent approval steps are:

  • Preliminary Plat
  • Final Plat
  • Technical Site Plan Review

Hopefully, some code enforcement action can simultaneously improve the appearance of one of Palm Coast’s least attractive business sites with its trademark rusted/leaning light pole, which fronts SR 100 at the MPC Lots entrance,

If you are traveling to Florida to “get lost” for awhile there are two great ways to ‘ Get Lost ” at the Palm Coast Sheraton Resort Inn located on the Atlantic Ocean beach about 28 miles north of Daytona Beach on the scenic Oceanside highway, State Road A1A. The hotel is offering two package vacation plans for those seeking a way to get lost.
One way to get lost is called the ” Honeymooner’s Paradise”, the other is the ” Golfers Weekend “. Either adds up to four days and three nights.
The Palm Coast Sheraton Resort Inn is built in the Old Spanish Mission style, with coquina rocks and nestles in acres of green, rolling lawn sprinkled with subtropical trees and shrubs with access to five miles of beautiful beach. Each airconditioned guest room has double beds and color television. Honeymooners are guaranteed a room with an ocean view.
The Ocean is just a few steps away. Also close by is the Intracoastal waterway, which offers good fishing, boating and water-skiing.
On the Inn grounds, there is a large freeform swimming pool surrounded by sundecks. Close by are two tennis courts which will soon be lighted for night play. Just a short ride by boat is an 18 hole championship golf course, the Palm Coast Golf Club ( later known as the Palm Harbor Gold Club )
, an electric cart, a gift package of golf balls and a complimentary bucket of practice range balls daily at the Pro Shop.
At the Inn, cuisine is superb in the Coquina Room or Cafe del Mar. The newly completed Beachcomber Bar located beside the pool, offers the finest in mixed drinks and sandwiches. Dancing and nightly entertainment are popular in the newly decorated Jonkanoo Lounge. For a slightly different atmosphere the visitor can also eat at the Palm Coast Yacht Club across the Intracoastal Waterway.
Sightseeing is a must at nearby historic St. Augustine and Marineland, and Daytona Beach is just a short drive for shopping or touring. For the young at heart, Walt Disney World is approximately 98 miles away.

I hope this helps give the newer Palm Coasters a ‘sense of being ‘ and a ‘ sense of place ‘. My, how time flies – Palm Coast Projects’ 50th Anniversary MILESTONE is 8 months away.

We Palm Coast Pioneers were offered ….10 Years of FREE Golf…I still have my membership cards to the Palm Coast Yacht Club and the Palm Coast Golf Club.
