January 30, 2008 – For over a year, people have been asking me if it’s true that the condominium at Ginn’s Yacht Harbor Village is sinking. When I looked into it a year ago, I was told that it was not true. In fact, one source suggested that the rumor was started by a salesperson at a competing condo project. In any event, I wrote an article on the “Rumor” page at that time. I've been asked the same question at least once a month since.
Rumor – Conservatory Lot Owner Gets Loan Extension
January 29, 2008 – The fact that several Conservatory lot owners face balloon payments or ARM resets this Spring has led to speculation over the effect such an event would have on the market. When Bobby Ginn met with property owners last year, he committed to encourage lenders to be more flexible in their terms. Apparently, he was successful.

Masterpiece Homes, who didn't buy right, apparently has sold most of its Flagler County inventory of building lots to locally owned SeaGate Homes. Masterpiece is pulling out of Flagler County.

December 27, 2007 – A rumor that has been circulating for about a week seems to be confirmed in a posting to PalmCoast.biz. It includes an email response from Target in response to an inquiry by the poster. It states, “The Palm Coast SuperTarget store near you is scheduled to open on July 23, 2008.” The rumor attributing the delay to a change in contractors remains unconfirmed.

December 26, 2007 – Financially troubled WCI, the builder of Hammock Dunes’ tower condominiums, is rumored to have struck a deal with another developer to sell off its showcase Tuscany Reserve development near Naples, FL for a price that may exceed $50 million.

December 4, 2007 - An interesting item showed up this morning on PalmCoast.biz’s Flagler Grapevine. The blogger noted that two parcels of land on the east side of US1 just south of Bunnell are owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

February 1, 2007 - A large parcel on the west side of Colbert Lane about one mile north of SR 100 was being developed by Masterpiece Homes. Site development began in 2006 but seems to have stopped. Heavy duty construction equipment previously on the site has vanished. There has been no activity for several weeks.

Investigators have found a pattern of inflated appraisals and cozy relationships with certain title/closing companies.
