Discovery World Furniture Consolidation to Flagler County to Bring 50+ Jobs

Project Columbus revealed. Discovery World Furniture has chosen to consolidate its operations in Flagler County, bringing jobs and further strengthening the regional economy.

PALM COAST, FL — September 6, 2019 — Discovery World Furniture, previously known as “Project Columbus” by the Flagler County Department of Economic Opportunity, has chosen to consolidate its operations in Flagler County, bringing jobs and further strengthening the regional economy.

In business since 1991, Discovery World physically assembles its products in Florida. Their claim to fame is providing high-quality youth loft systems, bunk beds, beds, and case goods that are made of solid wood, have European roller drawer glide systems, and are offered at a price that cannot be beat in the market place.

“Once established in Flagler County, our plan is to expand operations to include another niche market product with our own proprietary designs, mainly to service the coastal areas here in Florida and much of the southeast coast of the United States,” said Anthony Lupo, CEO of Discovery World Furniture, Inc. “This will obviously increase the number of employees we will need as well as support local vendors in a cooperative effort. We currently operate out of two facilities with combined square footage of 205,000. Our proposed building in Flagler County will enable us to streamline our operation.”

With a proposed footprint of 250,000 square feet, the new facility will be the largest manufacturing/distribution facility in Flagler County, elevating the county’s industrial inventory to a new tier.  Additionally, the estimated $20M capital investment will immediately generate 50+ new jobs and approximately $2.5M annually in wages.  The new facility will be located on U.S. Route 1, near the southern edge of Flagler County and will create an estimated $15.8M in annual economic output.
