| Palm Coast targeted by Target |
December 20, 2006 - One of Palm Coast and Flagler County's favorite rumors has moved out of the rumor category. Target Stores will build on a parcel along SR 100, west of the high school and east of Walgreen's, part of Town Center at Palm Coast. Town Center at Palm Coast is being developed by Palm Coast Holdings, a subsidiary of Allete Properties. The site plan designates this parcel as a "retail power center." Such designations usually mean one or more "big box" retailers such as Target, along with several smaller stores and restaurants.
Target plans a large format store including a grocery section, a format Target labels as a SuperTarget. Current plans call for a March '08 opening. Other Palm Coast Holdings developments in the area include Palm Coast Park and Ormond Crossings.
Who need another cheap store with large parking lot? It doesn’t look like this new center is going to be nice place after all.

This is fantastic news!! This will give me an alternative to Wally World with it's horrific trafic, long lines and poor quality merchandise.

People are never happy. You get something and all you want is more. If you don't like it move. Target is great. Macy's is a dump and way overpriced. Get a life.

Does anyone else want high paying jobs in Palm Coast? These min. wage jobs are not going to cut it. We need jobs paying $50-100k per year unless we are all going to get squashed by this out of control spending local government. Granted , Im sure they will find ways to overtax these businesses, but the real question is ....what is the local government doing about getting high paying jobs? Is anyone else getting sick over seeing another flagpole!

I planned to semi-retire to PC this spring of '07. My modest pension -plus a job I (unofficially) had lined-up from late last year- would have allowed this plan to come true. Well, I don't have to get into details about the many who were gainfully employed last year and who are UNemployed this year. My unofficial job won't even be filled at all. Disappointing how PC is being run. I hope things turn around. I would like to get there soon. At least I still have my job here. Good luck to everyone.

Would love to see a Longhorns and an Olive Garden in Palm Coast. Why should we have to feed the pockets of Jacksonville and Daytona for nice restaurants? Nice places to eat would flourish in Palm Coast. We have made Palm Coast our home now, and we are not retirees, nor are we golfers. We are palin folk who are interested in having our home town equipped with things like other towns sowe don't have to travel for them.
YOU CAN DO IT PALM COAST!!!

Walmart vs Target? well I would welcome the competition. Firstly im from New Jersey recently moved here.
Price fixing? example of FL
Back in Jersey purchased an air mattress from Walmart - 21.98 for temporary sleep conditions while moving. Came to FL Walmart and they were charging for the same identical mattrees = 28.99. What justifies a $7 increase for down south? So maybe Target will keep walmart in check with price gouging?

I wonder why Costco or BJ\'s does not come to Ormond Beach or Palm Coast area. The SAM\'s Club in Daytona Beach is not that great and it\'s too far southwest.

I have been trying to get a decent job in palm coast for two years now. I need a steady income and have no clue how to do it! No one is hiring in palm coast, and it seems to me that with all this construction and new buildings, they would need employees? If anyone can help me, let me, or just let me know who is hiring, I would greatly appreciate it. I am in desperate need of work. Thanks.

OK, Target is on the way.
