Question:  A recent News Journal article says that the City of Palm Coast approved a project for another Publix at the corner of US1 and Matanzas Woods Pkwy. Will this store be built soon?

Toby Says:  The final plat for that project, called Matanzas Pointe was approved by the city. At one time, Publix had indicated they were interested in building a store there. When the opportunity to purchase the Albertson's store on Belle Terre presented itself, Publix decided to buy that store. This action puts any chance for a Publix at Matanzas Pointe well into the future, certainly not until there has been substantial residential development in the area. That timing will be governed by market conditions.
